Yuval and Omri: a wedding postponed by the war, celebrated at the Hangar

Yuval and Omri met at work at Ben Gurion Airport, and two weeks before their wedding the war forced them to postpone it. This is how the Gavriel team helped them find a new date at the Hangar.

Yuval and Omri met between take-offs and landings, when they both worked for the Israel Airports Authority at Ben Gurion Airport. What began as a friendship at work gradually turned into deep conversations, private jokes and, in the end, a love that took off.

A proposal at a different altitude

For a couple who started out at an airport, it was only fitting that "the proposal" should keep to the same "airborne" spirit. The two went on a trip to Thailand together, and there a dream proposal was waiting: a hotel high on a mountain, green views, bouquets of flowers, photographers (somebody went to a lot of trouble), an intimate dinner and islands all around. The answer, of course, was yes.

The venue: Hangar

When the time came to choose a wedding venue, Yuval and Omri looked for a place that would live up to what they had imagined. They found it in the Hangar at Gavriel: a vast space that allows real freedom of design. The venue is equipped with advanced lighting and sound systems and giant LED screens, and is surrounded by a fruit garden of mulberry, mango, lychee and olive trees.

When plans change

Plans are all very well, but the war broke out, and two weeks before the wedding the couple realised the event would have to be postponed. In that moment Gabi, the events manager, was there for them.

Gabi reassured them and helped them find an alternative date. His resourcefulness was matched by a team that saw to moving everything that needed moving and organised the event around the new date, which gave the couple a sense of security and a good deal of peace of mind.

When the guests eat well, everyone is happy

Gavriel's kitchen, led by Chef Dudu, works with quality ingredients and select farm produce. The menu features internationally inspired dishes and desserts from the in-house patisserie and, according to Yuval, the guests could not stop praising the food at the wedding. That says a great deal.

Listen to Gabi

The golden piece of advice Gabi gave them, as Yuval tells it: "Don't miss a single moment of the wedding." No lingering over a change of dress, no taking your time getting back to the dancing - simply enjoy every moment. And that is exactly what they did.

Be present. This is the event of your lives: dance, and celebrate love.

Just as they imagined

Yuval and Omri's wedding was exactly as they had imagined it, and perhaps even more: a great deal of love, and a team that knew how to regroup when the date changed.
